Larry Love
#3 ~ 4' 5
Larry S. Love spent his early childhood in the 50's in Memphis, Tennessee.  His family moved to Mobile, Alabama in 1959.
In 1996 the family relocated again in Sacramento, California, where Love graduated from John F. Kennedy High School.
After a tour of duty in the United States Army, Love went to work in the Art Department at California State University at
Sacramento (CSUS), then Sacramento State College in spring of 1972.  Over the years his expertise in the technical
aspects of art, the location of materials, kiln techniques, production, repair and all aspects of installation, grew until he
decided to continue his education to obtain an art degree.  He enrolled at Sacramento City College and graduated in
December of 1981.

Love then enrolled at CSUS to formalize much of what he had already learned through experience on the job.  After
overcoming the wall of being a staff member and a student, love did well in his studies and received the Raymond W.
Witt Undergraduate Fellowship award in 1988 and the Increase Robinson Graduate Fellowship award in 1989.  He
graduated in June 1988 with a B.A. in Art and in 1992 with an MS in Art with an emphasis in Ceramic Sculpture.  He has
an extensive show record in the Sacramento area beginning in 1986 and running up to the present.  His work, which
has been reviewed in ARTWEEK, includes every ceramic form from masks to elegant abstractions.
